Whole works

  • /01 Steady growth in organic traffic amid intense competition
  • /02 Display in the Top 10 target categories
  • /03 Removing technical limitations on the Shopify platform
  • /04 Building a high-quality backlink profile from local sources

Issues and general strategy

At the outset, the project had high-quality visual content and a recognizable style, but organic reach remained low. The main issue was a lack of visibility for high-volume search queries in the premium swimwear niche. The site’s technical setup required refinement: Shopify automatically generated duplicate pages through its filter and tag system, which diluted link equity.

The project’s visibility for keywords was unstable. The promotion strategy involved deep technical optimization, expanding the semantic core to include specific styles, and active link building on Australian lifestyle resources.

What was done

Semantics and Category Structure

We conducted a detailed analysis of search queries within the niche. The semantic core was expanded to include micro-categories. This allowed us to create new collection landing pages, which began ranking for highly targeted queries with high conversion rates.

Shopify Technical Optimization

To overcome platform limitations, we implemented custom canonical tag settings to avoid duplicate pages in search results. We optimized loading speed for mobile devices, as over 80% of the target audience visits the site from smartphones. We also configured microdata for product cards, which allowed ratings and prices to be displayed directly in Google search results.

Backlink Profile

At the start of the project, the number of donor domains was insufficient. We focused on acquiring links from authoritative Australian resources in the fields of fashion, tourism, and outdoor recreation. Using outreach techniques allowed us to attract natural backlinks, which led to increased website visibility and stable rankings during algorithm updates.

Content Marketing

New SEO-optimized copy was developed for the collection pages, emphasizing the quality of the fabrics and the exclusivity of the designs. We introduced a “News” section with tips on product care and choosing styles for beach vacations. This helped not only to enhance LSI semantics but also to improve behavioral metrics (time spent on the site).

Results

Over the course of a year, we managed to nearly triple our organic traffic. The period from February to April 2026 was particularly successful, with traffic showing rapid growth and reaching 5,280 visits. The distribution of keywords by ranking confirms the effectiveness of the strategy: 147 keywords made it into the TOP 10.
