On-Page SEO: How to Optimize Your Content for Search Engines

What is called On-Page SEO?

How is On-Page “internal” SEO different from Off-Page “external” SEO? Both methods are used to improve the ranking of the site page in search engines and the growth of relevant organic traffic.

On-Page SEO is aimed at optimizing the web page itself, keeping in mind both the content and the html code of the page.

Off-page “off-page” SEO is a practice based on external signals: links, social networks, brand awareness and PR.

Content quality

With internal optimization, it is important to regularly audit the content of the pages for the following parameters:

  1. Relevance is the matching of the content of a web page in order to find a user for a given keyword.
  • Type (single post, post category)
  • Format (review, list, opinion, news or instruction)
  • Submission method, depending on the content format
  1. Readability – the presence of structured content, divided into blocks using subheadings, bulleted and numbered lists, images.
  2. Uniqueness and usefulness – content that ranks highly in the search should be unique, and contain a new point of view on the problem, offer a new solution, contain unique examples.

Content should be written “for visitors”, it should fully and accurately answer the visitor’s request. Good indicators of the behavioral characteristics of visits have a positive effect on the ranking of the resource in the search.

Search engine optimization

The main “technical” ranking factors are:

  • Page content
  • H1 Headers, Title and Description Meta Description
  • URLs
  • Image optimization (Alt for description, size, quality, uniqueness) page ranking.
  • Site loading speed
  • Internal and external linking
  • Mobile optimization
  • Using microdata
